of nature
The Cayce Readings tell us that if we wish for children to learn of Spirit, they need to be at one with Nature. This is a story that illustrates the opportunities that are available for learning through attuning to the natural world.A few weeks ago, I asked the birds, which I leave seed, if they would leave me a feather each day. Since then, I have found a feather from one or another of them each morning.
Yet a few days ago, I did not see the feather and said, "well, this is a fine how do you do!" Then I heard, "go over there, we wanted you to work for it." Feeling certain this was my imagination springing from somewhere, I hesitantly went in that direction for about ten feet. I silently muttered, "there is no feather. I am making this up." But the voice said, "you are very close!"
Upon going a few more feet, I found the most beautiful brown, black and white feather with the patterns of the mourning dove. I was so grateful for the confirmation of what I was hearing and overwhelmed with a sense of oneness with the birds who visit the yard every day.
Often we think it is only our imagination, but when we trust, we find we are simply linking into the oneness of us all. So I thank the birds for their gift.
